Question what happened?

Hi,

I'm 20 years old female..I'm virgin, I haven't had sex, but 3 days ago my boyfriend inserted one finger in .. and he did it like 5 times ever since that day..But I didn't bleed! it's bugging me that i didn't bleed..I mean what happened? did my hymen break? if so why didn't i bleed? .. I'm really worried..as to what i know, he did put his finger in..any thoughts would be appreciated..thanks

Well at 20, you're not young in the sense that you would be expected to have an intact hymen.
Most women break their hymen long before sexual intercourse- whether it be through athlietic means etc.

The fact that you didn't bleed could mean you tore your hymen through another means, or simply that he didn't tear your hymen with fingering.

I wouldn't sweat it.

As the previous poster said you could have torn your hymen long ago and never realized it.

Also, you could have a very elastic hymen and your boyfriend is stretching it but not tearing it.

Finally, you could be partially open and when he inserts a finger it fits easily yet when you are ready for intercourse and he inserts his penis the first time the remainder of the hymen may tear.

Did you know your hymen actually shrivels up and withers away with age?

Most women, broken hymens and virgins or not, will lack a hymen completely by age 35.

And besides, even when some people break theirs, it doesn't bleed.

I never realised what an old wives tale it was that "every" woman bleeds during first time sex!!

Made me laugh when my mother commented on the fact that all women bleed during their first time. I had to break it to her that i didn't lose a drop of blood during my "first" time.
