Vaginal discharge....I'm stumped! - Sexual Health - Women Message Board

Ok, I know that having a clear/milky white discharge is normal and healthy....but for the past 2 days straight I've been having this same discharge only a lot more of it. Like, I'm leaking almost lol Theres no itching and no odor to it at all, so I know its nothing like a yeast infection. I have no pain during intercourse either. I'm on birth control pills and am wondering if maybe this is playing with my hormonal balance and causing this increase, although I'm 21 and have been on birth control pills for years and this has never happened to me. I also read that an increase in vaginal discharge could be an early sign of pregnancy. I'm usually good about remembering my pills but did forget to take a few of them about 2 weeks ago, and then doubled up, but honestly, what are the chances that if I was preganant that signs would show up that quick??? What could be some reasons for this increase out of nowhere??? Hope someone out there can help me figure this out! I'm stumped!

I'm not sure why it would show up out of no where like that and never have done it before but, every single month, when I ovulate I have increased cervical mucus like you describe. I think that all women of chidbearing age do. I wouldn't worry about it unless you start having other symptoms such as odor, itching or pain or unless it won't go away.

Well I'm pretty sure that when you're on birth control pills you don't ovulate at all....at least thats what I've always thought. But I do know that normally when a woman ovulates theres more discharge. Hmmm, still confused

It is possible for a woman to still ovulate while taking oral contraceptives. The pill is supposed to work 2 ways: by stopping ovulation and by making the uterus inhospitable in case ovulation does take place anyway.

as to what could be causing the increased discharge in this case, I have no idea.

Sometimes my discharge is slightly yellow in color. Is this normal, or is something wrong? Thanks for your help!
