Hi!
I am 21 and last year I was on BCP to get rid of acne problems.
I started with Diane 35 with no side effects but switched to Yasmin because of the recommendation of my gyn. It cleared my skin completely, but I lost my libido. I quit taking yasmin after 2 months, which was 4 months ago and till now I havent recovered from that.

I have a bf, whom I love and we have no problems with our relationship but I have no desire to have sex but we do once a week so that he doesnt feel bad.

Did anyone have a similar problem? After Yasmin, I do not want to take BCP again. Please, help.

I have never heard of anyone losing their libido from BC-are there any other meds that you are on?

Hey Miffy-- Don't worry about it you arn't the only one. I was on BC I used Alesse and I was on it for 3 yrs and this last year had to be the worst i couldnt even get interested no matter how hard i tried. But Latley its been coming back slowly just need more foreplay. Don't worry about it I'm assuming its normal because Im not the only one now thanks to you! But don't worry about it.. It'll come back.. just give it time! :-)

Jets,it is a common side effect of most hormonal BC to lose sex drive or have a decrease in it.
I have had it happen twice while on different forms of bc. It can take a while for things to return to normal after stopping bc.
You can talk to your dr and see what he/she suggests. Chances are though given some more time things will return to normal.
