Unhappy "duplicate" of my next message...please delete this one

hi! i hav a little prob. The day after i have sex w/my bf, my vagina and inside it gets really itchy? is this a normal thing? we've been together for a/b 2 years and neither of us have stds. we always have great sex , i love this guy. is there something wrong with me? i'm a very clean person, maybe a little too obsessed w/cleanliness, so thats not a prob. i always pee b4 and after. i'm on bc pills too (ortho tricyclen) if thats makes a diff.

the only way to get rid of the itching for a little while is to use my shower head on hot water on the area. but, i dont' think its really a good thing to be doing that on such a sensitive area. othertimes i tried using monistat cream inside and it seems to help. But i feel like i'm not doing the right thing, seeing that its really for yeast infections, although it does say its for itching too. i feel liek i shouldn't have to keep doing this, but i dotn' kno what to do.

also, i got anthr question. just wanna kno if i'm being too obsessed or not. When my bf fingers me, should I make him wash his hands or ask him if his hands are clean b4 he goes in? i had uti's before and i thought it was b/c of not washing his hands right b4 we fool around.

please help me out here. am i doing somethign wrong.

Re: itchy vagina after sex...and wash hands b4 foreplay?

Hey,
I would really go to the Doctor just to be safe. I was having the same problem, and it turned out I had an STD called Trichamoniasis (sp). I really didnt have any symptoms, besides really bad itching after sex. I just had to take a dose of medicine, and everything was fine.

As far as the washing the hands goes...I would say something (I'm a clean freak, too, and I wont even touch him until he's showered...is that bad?)

Let me know what happens!

Thorough washing of the entire body before and after sex is a great way to minimize the transmission of germs, be they STDs or non-STDs. Remember, germs are are more than just the hands.

I, too, recommend seeing the doctor. In addition to trick, it is possible you are allergic to his sperm (if you don't use condoms) or to the condom itself (the lube, spermicide or latex). Seeing a doctor can you rule out the causes.

If you aren't using any gels, lubes, spermicides etc, I'd go see a dr. Also if your red and itchy and you ARE using something to that nature stop b/c it's probably an allergy. I still get red and itchy, we stopped using condoms b/c they gave me infections. Now i'm on the pill. But it could be a yeast infection, too...
