Still bleeding - Sexual Health - Women Message Board

I have recently starting taking birth control since my period started over a week ago. Now usually my periods are 7 days long and end after only 7 days, but this time it's still going. I still have my period after 10 days, is this normal for JUST starting birth control or should I call my doctor? Thank you!

I would not be too concerned. Your body is probably being acclimated to the birth control pills. Also, it is very normal to have an irregular period will on the pill. If the bleeding does not stop after this first cycle, then I would consult a doctor. He may need to change your dosage or brand.
