Ovarian Cyst causing pain? - Sexual Health - Women Message Board

In January I went to the hospital with horrable pain in my stomach caused during sex. After having and ultrasound the dr told me that I had an ovarian cyst and must of ruptured explaining the. I was put on Birth-Control pills to help prevent the cysts from growing. This is something that worries me more than anything because when I was 17 I had my right ovary removed because of a cyst and I would love to have another baby so I have to keep this ovary healthy.

Okay now heres the problem sometimes during sex expecially when Im on my period which is when woman develop a cyst, I get this sharp intense pain on the left side of my stomach and hip and I am worried that maybe my ovary is being hit and that there might be a cyst on it.

I know that its not my cervix because I can tell the difference between that type of pain and this left sided pain. But whats weird is that I sometimes feel this pain on the right side as well and there is no ovary there so that is a little relief to me.

But I still wonder if maybe the pain on left side is my ovary and that there is a cyst there. Has anyone been through or have any suggestions.

Consider perhaps that it's not ovarian pain but endometriosis. Have you been worked up for this condition? The pain most of us feel with ovarian cysts is caused by the weight of the cyst pulling the ovary out of position (ovaries are on stalks, remember?).
Also, try a different sexual position - NOT missionary - to see if that is easier for you.

I considered it to be ovarian related because of the cysts that I always get. I'm just worried. And I have tried other posistions its not the pain that bothers me its what may be causing it.

Also I have had at least three relativly large cysts and they have actually never caused me any pain except for the one that ruptured, I just thought that the pain I experience during sex may be caused by the ovary being hit or something, even though I did think they were a little higher.
