Ortho Evra questions - Sexual Health - Women Message Board

My doc put me on ortho evra (the patch) today because ortho tri cyclen made me feel like i was going to puke all the time and got depressed all the time,panic attacks and just lots of bad side effects so Im trying the patch.

I just wanted to know if anyone else has tried it or is currently on it and if they had anything they could tell me about it .Side efects? is it better than the pill? etc.

I am on ortho tricyclen and experinced naseua the first couple months, althought it has went away. My best friend is on the patch and she raves how great it is, that she has never gained weight, and you dont have to worry about taking a pill. Also she has been on it for about a year and had no problems with effectiveness!

Hi! I have been on the patch for about 6 1/2 months now and I also love it. I didn't experience any side effects and although I never tried birth control pills, I know the patch is better for me anyway because it's much easier than taking a pill everyday. Just make sure that it's on as smooth as possible (although natural creases from how your body moves cannot be avoided) because if there are avoidable creases in it, it can lessen its effectiveness. yes, I have had very severe reactions to the patch. I just posted them actually in another forum here. You can read my experience with ortho evra by clicking on my name and reading my past posts. (This post makes 3, so finding it won't be hard!) Worth the read though, if you are questioning going on the patch.

Hi, I have been taking Ortho Evra for almost 2 years now, and have never had any problems. I have a question however, which may sound a big strange. Today was supposed to be my last day, I should have taken my patch off and replaced it next Sunday after getting my period around Wednesday of this week. However by accident I put on another patch today instead of removing it for week 4. I removed in as soon as I realized that this was the week I should be getting my period, and had on the "extra" patch for probably around 10 hours, will that cause any complications? Should I get my period as scheduled around Wednesday? Thanx!
