Hi,

Ive been on the pill for about 5/6 years and i am pretty sure it has effected my sex drive. im thinking of coming off the pill but obviously i dont want any children and want to know what other options there are. i know there is an injection every 3 months, but does this have the same effect on your sex drive?

Does anyone also have any suggestions on how to boost your sex drive please?

ask your doctor to test your testosterone & estrogen levels. It may be low. Testosterone is the sex drive hormone for men & women. Too much estrogen E2 can also lessen the sex drive.

becareful of the shot.. unless weight gain doesnt bother u.. on average women gain 10-100 pounds on depo

All (I believe) hormonal BCs can cause decrease in sex drive. Depo can as well, although weight gain upwards of 100 lbs is very rare. I was on Depo for 2.5 years, and I only gained 5 lbs. Talk to your doctor--you may want to get a pill with lower hormone doses to help prevent low libido.
