Burning/Stinging Day After Sex - Sexual Health - Women Message Board

I have a question that I haven't been able to get any real answers to. I'm hoping someone here can help. I have been w/ my husband for 13 yrs and we have 2 children. The problem is that lately, the day (sometimes 2 days after) we have sex I get a burning and stinging feeling from the outside of my vagina and about 2 inches into it (and need to take Tylenol). Then after a day or two, it goes away and I am fine. The onyl other thing I noticed is that my period is lasting a little longer and comes sooner than my regular cycle used to. We do not use condoms (I had my tubes tied 2 yrs ago). We have never needed to use KY or any other lube but am wondering if now we need to. I have done some research and found that it can be anything from Vulvar Vestibulitis Syndrome to Vulvar Cancer to Endometriosis and so on.
Does anyone have any insight? I'd appreciate any input I can get.

I forgot to add that it also burns when I urinate the day after sex as well.
I have been reading other posts that are similar to this one, but most are w/ different partners w/ different "sizes" or have different situations. So being that I have been w/ my husband so long and we haven't been doing things we don't normally do or have done during sex, I'm perplexed regarding my situation.
Again, any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like he may have chaffed some skin from either being too rough or going too long.

Could be a urinary tract infection. Always be sure to urinate before & aafter sex to "wash" out any bacteria.

Thanks for your replies. I do make sure I urinate before and after sex. And the pain goes away after a day or two. I have had urinary tract infections before, but that pain was constant (w/ blood tinged urine) - that's why I am not sure what is going on, b/c it does feel like a UTI, but just for a day or two. And then the problem doesn't happen again until we have sex again. Do you think it could still be a UTI?
I think I might try lubrication next time and see if it might be chafing. If not, I'll put a call into the doctor.
