Vaginal Rash?

Hi everyone,

I have a question for my girlfriend (she's too afraid to even think about what could be wrong).

I was with a woman almost two years ago and she gave me unprotected oral sex. About a month after that I got the aformentioned girlfriend and we are still together. Over the course of the past year, she's been vey uncomfrotable in the vaginal area (mostly discharge, itching and redness), and it's been pretty constant. She went and got tested for everying (including STD's) and it all came back negative. No signs of baterica or anything.

Just recently however she noticed a few small bumps and blisters around her genital area. She's worried that it might be herpes, the one thing she hasn't been tested for yet.

My question is, from what I recall, the woman who gave me the oral sex prior to meeting my current girlfriend didn't have any cold sores or anything that I can remember. I've also never experienced any herpes symptoms myself. The incubation period from what I've read is about 2-10 days, not 2 years - you would think that one of us would have gotten the symptoms long ago. She's been going to doctors for about a year and this is the first time they found anything in regards to a rash.

Any thoughts of what it could be? A constant irrated vagina, some discharge, and a few small bumps that she's just getting now - 2 years after my encounter, which was about a month before the first time me and my girlfriend first had sex.

Our doctors have both said that it's probably unrelated, and she's waiting to get her test results back, which she won't have for another 2-3weeks.

Re: Vaginal Rash?

No I think it is highly unlikely that you gave this to her. Oral sex "can" give STD's but not as easy as other forms of unprotected sex. The mouth is extremely hostile enviroment, saliva itself contains alot of enzymes and germ killers. For instance I read a report about that they haven't been able to attribute a single case of HIV ever to oral sex. Herpes and HPV can spread this way yes. When it comes to your girlfriend..I seriously doubt you gave anything to her. Girls usually have more problems of this nature and it really sounds like your G/F has a yeast infection. There are tons of things that a girl can get that causes what you are describing that is NOT STDs and you can get it from doing "nothing"..just spores in the air, taking a quick swim in a poor, wearing underwear that is too tight, eating penicilin..tons of stuff. My sister was hospitalized a couple of days after taking a dip in a swimming pool..it gave her some serious steph infection "down there" that made her very ill. If she has any form of STD, it doesn't really need to be from YOU either if it turns up positive. Hope it helps!

Re: Vaginal Rash?

Thanks for the reply!

When I said she was tested for eveything, that included a yeast infection, which she does have a history of, but the doctor ruled that out. I read that herpes can lay dormant for years, thats all, so I got worried. I'm pretty sure it's not that, because her irrataion has been constant, not in the outbreak format that herpes does.

Re: Vaginal Rash?

What about allergies? Could she be allergic to her laundry detergent? Or a certain fabric? Also, it sounds crazy, but some peoples PH just aren't compatible....

Even if she's never had allergies before, alot of people develop them as adults. That's what it sounds like to me, especially if her irritation is constant and she has been checked for everything else.
