Vagina Problems

OK...so, I am %100 sure I do not have an STD....but I have gotten what appears to be a rash....(it seems to get irritated once in a while)...right outside my vagina opening....it hurts and stings like HECK sometimes...and other's it's super itchy....Is this OK?....My friend told me that tiny little rashes can show up due to razor burn, or even the type of laundry detergent you use. Should I go check up with a doctor with this?....

Also....would Vagisil work to ease the burning and itching?

Thanks

Re: Vagina Problems

If you are sexually active & you are not producing or using adequate lubrication, this can cause irritation of the vaginal opening. If this is the case try some extra lube. If not, have you considered maybe you have a yeast infection? Yeast infection can cause that type of rash. Your friend is right about razor burn & soaps. These can cause irritation, but the soap would cause a rash in other places also. Razor burn would also create the rash on other parts of the vagina that you are shaving. Other things that can cause a rash are too tight jeans, douching, latex condoms, heavy fondeling of the area (such as during masturbation or foreplay). If none of these suggestions ring a bell, I would see your Dr.. Vagisil can help relieve the irritation for now, just don't insert it. Use it only on the external area.
