Can the pill cause vaginal dryness???? - Sexual Health - Women Message Board

Okay here goes, on Monday I believe he fingered me too hard because afterwards I was bleeding alittle bit. On Friday, we used a non lubricated condom and it was extremely dry. Now yesterday, we used a lubricated condom, but the at first it was very painful, I'm thinking this could be from
1. When he fingered me he damaged some tissue on my vaginal wall and it is still healing
2. My pill is causing vaginal dryness, making sex more painful now

Has this happened to anyone else????? Does or has your pill made you dry???? Please help!!!!!

When i first started my pill..and still had to use condoms..i got dry easily...now that im on the pill and using no condoms i dont get dry at all...i think it was the condoms taking away my lubrication. if you aren't wet enough AND using a NON lubricated condom..that's not good..its going to be unpleasant. and even if you are using lubricated condoms..those really [in my opinion] dont have much lubrication on them to get the job done anyways..in most cases the girl has to be pretty wet for it to not really hurt. You honestly might just not be getting arroused enough which is not making you lubricated..therefore causing pain during sex. all in all..if it doesnt get any better TRY USING SOME waterbased LUBE..ive never used lube ..but it works great [obviously] for dry situations..and i heard it really helps to ease painful sex.

YES! That's why I came off them. My libido went to ZERO, and I was so painful all the time.

I think that it might be the type of pill you are using? You should tell your doctor if another pill with a different hormonal dosage might be better for you.

Thanks for the advice. I used to use Ortho Tricyclen years ago and never had problems before. Now I am now Velivet (I don't reallt like it). I will talk to my doctor soon. But I will continue to use condoms (the pill isn't 100%).
