Vaginal Pain

I have been married for 14 yrs. I am 35 yrs old no chlidren. A few months ago I took a round of antibiotics for sinus problems. Well I ended up with some type of vaginal infection, very severe. It didn't act like a yeast, there was no discharge, just a lot of swelling and rawness. My doctor said it was yeast although no test were run. I took diflucan for two weeks. I think it finally got better on its own. Anyway enough background. Ever since this happened, my vaginia is extremely sensitive. If my husband tries to touch me, it is like my skin is thin and dry. I tear very easily, and my clitoris is so sensitve it is painful to touch. This is very upsetting. I am getting to the point I don't want to have sex. I went to my doctor and he did a culture, but nothing showed up. I feel like my whole anatomy has changed. I have another doctors appt, but I thought someone here might could help. Thanks

hi, just guessing from my past experince with my g/f...I think its just your harmones messed up...maybe your starting menapuse at an earily age? that happens for some women.
if your Dr thinks its a yeast infection with out doing any test? maybe that dr just takes things for grante? assumes? The antibotics you took for your sinus could have affected your harmones....but a good guyno should find your reasons why it's painful for you down there? if you have forplay and not tired to stress/ depression .
I just tend to think its your harmones all messed up!.
Good Luck...post back let us know what you found out?...other women may need to know!

Re: Vaginal Pain

Maybe you need to see another doctor/gyno?...something is clearly wrong with you...if you had took diflucan for your yeast infection(sometimes doctors can detect the look and apperance of a yeast infection without a culture sample,my doctor did) and the sensitivity that you are feeling in or around your vagina is still persisting, than something else is wrong...Are you dry all the time?...I wouldn't rule out menopause but most likely it could be something else,so to be exactly certain...I would suggest you go and see another doctor...Good Luck!!!

Re: Vaginal Pain

The reaction you had to the antibiotics must have done quite a number on your body. A reaction like a yeast infection is very common so your doc came to a logical conclusion, but to have linering pain is not normal. Maybe it really upset your pH level, I don't know... (btw, I've never heard of antibiotics messing up your hormones).

Sorry I can't be of more help but don't let your doctor shrug it off. Something happened and you should be able to get to the bottom of it.
