My girlfriend has been experiencing bleeding between periods and just today bleeding after fingering. We're both 17 and virgins, and everything was fine until recently and now we're afraid that this may be cervical cancer. She hasnt experienced any pain though, and the bleeding has not been heavy. Also, she did not begin menstruating until under a year ago. Any suggestions would be appreciated

If she is on birth control then that is probably what it is.

It can happen on birth control. Also if your fingers were inside her that can cause some bleeding if she's not used to it, just be very gentle.

I would seriously doubt cervical cancer. Don't jump to the worst conclusion first.

When women begin menstruating, the periods can be highly irregular for quite a while (like a couple of years). I would imagine that this is all that is going on. Breakthrough bleeding is not uncommon in young women, birth control or not.
