I feel like my vagina still smells funky like it did after I had sex with my boyfriend. I thought maybe at first it was because the pH was different since a new element (the bf's penis/fluids) was introduced to it, but its been over a week since we've had sex or any interaction and it still smells. I shower daily. I skipped my period but I've been spotting for 3 weeks from not having it. I wonder if thats it. Any ideas?

The sperm can change the pH balance of the vagina. If it starts to smell fishy then it's BV. Douching changes the pH balance of the vagina as well. I have never use RepHresh, it's vaginal gel to help even out the pH in the vagina, but others on this board say it works very well. If it does not work then a dose of antibiotics or inserting Metro Gel should help.

What is BV? I havent douched so it cant be that. but thanks for that info.

Bacterial vaginosis. I mentioned douching cause some people douche to get rid of BV or yeast and it makes the condition worse.

I just recovered from BV a few weeks ago. Let me tell you it was horrible. I treated it like a yeast infection (YI) at first because that's what it felt like. After a few failed attempts and some research, I found out it was BV and let me tell you it's really hard to get rid of sometimes. My method was to take ORAL Metronidazole while using RePhresh at the same time. Using RePhresh prevents a YI from occuring while you're taking the antibiotic. Some women develop YI while on antibiotics because they kill the good bacteria that is supposed to stay in your vagina.

Go to your OBGYN and have him/her test for BV... Don't wait too long.
