Burning during sex.

I have burning during sex and "no" lubricant seems to work. I've tried all of the ones in the pharmacy and was wondering if anyone knows of a natural lubricant that would ease the pain. Oral sex is not an option for us. We used to have oral sex but after my husband had prostrate surgery 2 yrs. ago neiither one of us wanted to resume that part of making love. As a result of the surgery he is somewhat incontinent, so that has a lot to do with not wanting to have oral sex. I have a hard time getting "turned on" and my husband is very frustrated but tries to be patient. I feel bad that I'm letting him down so I try to help relieve him. I do not burn at any other time except when we have sex. I can only go so long before I feel raw and want to cry. Therefore, my sexual desire has decreased. I would appreciate any input because I would like to make love without the burning sensation. Thanks.

Re: Burning During Sex

PSgirl:

I assume from the fact that your husband has had prostate surgery that you are post-menopause or nearing there. I have heard that as hormone levels drop, the labia can become thinner, and your body makes less lubrication, which can make sex more work and less play. Dropping hormone levels can also decrease sex drive. There are some treatments that can help, although I'm not really up on all of them. Have you asked your gynecologist?
