| Re: Septate hymen questions
Has she had a full exam? Pap? It's odd the gyno would not notice. I'm not sure if what I had was "septate" hymen but it was much thicker than normal, very painful. I had to have surgery to correct it, gyno said it would have been extremely painful to have sex. I think they just took the abnormal part and left a little bit of a hymen. It's fairly easy, it's a dnc, they can iether do general or local aneth. I chose general as I didn't really want to be awake for that...
I don't think it's all that uncommon really, but honestly she needs to mention it to her gyno herself.. you should be able to talk to your doc about those things.
