| Re: Bleeding during intercourse
I had this and it was what the doctor called cervicitis from a nonbacterial/nonviral cause.
Basically my cervix was inflamed, and it was "just one of those things." There was no pill or antibiotic that would get rid of it. My gynecologist said these things generally go away on their own. He suggested I abstain from using tampons and intercourse for a few months and then gently resume those activities and see if it comes back.
If it was the case that it didn't resolve on its own, he said cryosurgery was an option (he said it was very, very easy, outpatient, I'm awake, and it's painless).
Luckily, mine resolved on its own.
I had gone off BC pill a few months prior to this starting -- I'd been on the pill for 20 + years -- so we think it might have been hormonal.
Like yours, there was no pain associated with the bleeding. Sometimes there would be a decent amount of blood after sex (so much so that I thought I must be starting my period); sometimes it was just a brown/pinkish hue in the days following intercourse.
Best of luck to you. Try not to worry. I know that's easier said than done! Best case scenario, it would go away on its own, but I had to allow my cervix time to heal and get over the inflammation. Worst-case scenario, I'd have a bit of my cervix frozen off in a really easy procedure. He also said I could just live with it if it didn't bother me (but it did!).
