Weird pelvic pain.... please help! - Sexual Health - Women Message Board

Hello all,
I am having this horrible pain right now and I need to know what it is. I've felt it about 3-4 times before, and those times it was a sudden sharp pain that came on during sex or immediately after sex. This is like no pain I ever felt before, it was TERRIBLE. And it didn't stop for several hours and still ached until a day later. It is in the lower pelvis area but moves around and seems to radiate through my back, sides and even my butt. It has a pressure feel to it also. I saw on another board a bunch of women have experienced this during and after sex too, but no one can figure out what it is. Some say it's because your cervix was hit during sex and now it's contracting causing these pains. I kind of feel like I need to push or something. Well last night this pain started again for me without having sex. Now it's the next morning and it still won't go away! Has anyone experienced this?? I am getting worried. Thanks.

I experienced exactly the same as you. After having sex I had horrific lower abdominal pain. This happened to me several times before one night the pain was so bad I was physically sick and felt like i'd been stabbed! After looking online for some answers and not really finding anything definite I decided it was time to go to the doctors. I had to have blood tests and the doctor did an internal examination to see if it was due to infection. I had some swabs taken and found that the pain was coming from my womb. My doctor thought it must be from an infection and didn't want to wait for the swab and blood results before putting me on antibiotics. He put me on 2 lots of antibiotics for a week. I am still waiting for the results, as im not sure exactly what is wrong, but I definitely recommend going to the doctors, as my doctor told me it is not normal to get such terrible pains! Ive had a look online and the only thing i can associate it with is Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. If you have a look online you can see if you have any more of the symptoms associated with this! Once I get the results I may be able to tell you more! Hope this helps. Take care.
