What is the difference between a vaginal versus a clitoral orgasm?

What is the difference between a vaginal versus a clitoral orgasm for a woman?

Is there a difference in sensation? How does one versus the other occur?

Thanks.r

Re: What is the difference between a vaginal versus a clitoral orgasm?

That is one tough question. The reason being we are all different and all describe things differently. So to try to give an answer may not be what one thinks it should be.
Also one has to consider vaginal orgasms are by far the harder ones to attain and hence IMHO far sweeter. But again that is for me. I am also happy if all I have is a clitoral orgasm.
This is purely individual and I am sure you will get a board scope of answers.

For me clirotal orgasm are short but still pleausrable. In short I mean the pleasure from them is short lived. Now for me vaginal is bliss. The pleasure feels like it lasts for ever and rolls over in waves. I also cry and I mean the water works of tears just flow.

This is extremely interesting. Besides the feeling what else is different? Can you recover more quickly from clitoral orgasm?
What about anal orgasms? Also since we are on the topic- how long does it take you to recover from one orgasm , before you are ready to go for another one?

Re: What is the difference between a vaginal versus a clitoral orgasm?

Well let me think..what else is different. Remember I am speaking for me and with other women they will more than likely be totally different than I. The anal one I can speak for...I have yet to have one that way.
Clitoral orgasms can lead to pain if stimulation is kept up after the orgasm. I personally need a few minutes to recover from those. Now vaginal orgasms are great because with those I can keep going and dont have to recover from those.

I sit here thinking of it and in ways it is hard to describe because women will experience different things. Heck even my own orgasms will differ with each one. It kind of surprises me that more women havent put in their two cents on this subject. You know it would help guys out to get different views on this.

Re: What is the difference between a vaginal versus a clitoral orgasm?

Ok..I'll try. For me, all orgasms are definately not equal. I've had both kinds separately and then I've had orgasms that are both. Man, this is hard to explain. Ok, if the orgasm is done by me manually during intercourse-with hand or vibrator-I would rate the orgasm as a 7.5. If the orgasm is just by vibrator or hand alone without any vaginal stimulation (nothing in the vagina) it's about a 5. If the orgasm is by one specific toy I have that stimulates both g-spot and clitoris it is an 8.5. If the orgasm is from intercourse alone (90% of the time happens only when I'm on top) then it is definately an 11!! My absolute fav. Where the confusion comes in is that I am not sure if that would be vaginal or clitoral orgasm. I would feel for sure it is a little of both.

Ok, that's all I have to say on that subject.

Re: What is the difference between a vaginal versus a clitoral orgasm?

Oh all right, I'll bite.

The difference you ask? If I have an orgasm through masturbation alone, it definately isn't near as good as it is when I'm with my husband. I too prefer to have a vaginal orgasm because they're almost wavelike if you will. In addition, I feel like I can feel the blood flow in my labia and that is one hell of a feeling.

(*Husband in background telling ME about MY orgasms!* Go figure.) At any rate, here is my take on the clitoral....MIND BLOWING!!!! But if there is an ounce of stimulation after one of those mind blowing orgasms I just spoke of then my clitoris hurts from too much stimulation.

(Husband tapping on me to answer last question.) FINE!!! *sigh* I was hoping I wouldn't have to answer THAT one. Well, they're not bad. Go read the topic of Just for Fun in the General Sexual Health started by my one and only husband. The comment of "doing unnatural things" pertains to this act and that song. I'm being told that my strongest orgasms are when I am being stimulated clitorally and anally. Like Whitewolf, the waterworks flow. The first time that happened was just recently. Surprised the hell out of me that I could cry from an orgasm, but cry like a baby I did.

Ok, I've shared entirely too much. It is time for me to go. I should have had Jude answer this as he seems to know my orgasms better than I do. But I guess that is a good thing ~ he's sensitive to my feelings. Hope this helps.

<I can't believe I just wrote this let alone I'm sending this....> LOL
[This message has been edited by Hamsmacker (edited 06-26-2001).]

Re: What is the difference between a vaginal versus a clitoral orgasm?

Hamsmacker , whitwolf, eweejoe, (Wo)men I would like to know more!
I gather that if you had an cliterol orgasm most of you need to wait a bit (say 15- 30 mintues), as the cliterus is very senstive thereafter. o.k. Is intercourse pleasurable right after a clitoral orgasm or is it better to wait a while? and Could you experience a vaginal orgasm soon after a clitoral orgasm?
Dying to know more! Most women never tell you these things let alone whether they had an orgasm. I always thought if you need to ask she did not have one, however some women have them a lot more quiet or so they say.

Re: What is the difference between a vaginal versus a clitoral orgasm?

For me, once I have one I am done for the day..regardless of which 'kind' it was. I do like to continue to have intercourse afterwards, so long as there isn't any clitoral stimulation. I find that my vagina (oops..did I say that? ) feels more sensitive after I orgasm and I like it!

Hubby always knows when I orgasm too. I'm not loud, but he knows.

Take Care!

Re: What is the difference between a vaginal versus a clitoral orgasm?

I can pretty well speak for Hamsmacker since I am the one who gives her most of her orgasms. I can't tell you how sensitive she is after a clitoral orgasm, because each time is different. Sometimes I can make her orgasm up to ten times through oral, and she stil isn't to sensitive and other times after one she pushes me away. I guess it has to do with the intensity of the orgasm and how enthusiastic I was.

I also know that after a clitoral orgasm that makes her too sensitive to touch, she does enjoy a either intercourse or anal play and she can still orgasm from either of those soon after her clitoral orgasm.

One thing noone has mentioned is that a large part of the female (and male for that matter) takes place in the head. I once made Hamsmacker orgasm from touching her back, neck, and shoulders. I spent a VERY long time just gently touching her and telling her how much I loved her and what I wanted to do to, for, and with her. I then told her to imagine all the things we had done together. Her breathing deepened and I started to whisper all those things in her ears. Eventually she exploded in a pretty powerful orgasm. I was impressesed and not just a little impressed with myself. Saddly I have never been able to recreate that.

Re: What is the difference between a vaginal versus a clitoral orgasm?

Ok with me after a clitoral orgasm I need intercourse. I pratically yank my hubby up or flatten him on his back. I carve it and normally will have a vaginal orgasm that way. I know that sounds strange but that is just me. Granted sometimes I will be fine with just a clitoral orgasm but that is when I do it myself and hubby isnt around. If hubby is around forget it I want the whole nine yards.
I have never been shy about talking about sex. I mean why not talk about it especially with the person you are having sex with.
