Girlfriend's vagina hurts after intercourse

My girlfriend is 21 and pretty petite. I am average in size--maybe slightly wider than average. My girlfriend enjoys sex, but it never takes very long before we run into some kind of problem. She has had a few yeast infections in the past and UTIs. I think this time it might be something different. Now every time after intercourse, and even for long bouts in between, she complains about pain in her groin. She says it hurts her to sit down. Every time after sex there is a white chunky discharge, which I know is a common symptom of a UTI or yeast infection; however, she says it does not hurt when she pees. Usually I only need to wipe it away and continue--it does not come back until the next time we have sex. I've noticed the white stuff long before she complained of pain. I thought it was normal, and just something that happened to some girls when they get aroused (I've seen a few pornos where I notice the same thing in other girls). It never used to happen, which is why it concerns me. Now It's been happening for quite a long time.

What has prompted me to write on these boards is that just recently I noticed that the discharge was brown after being wiped off. I've never seen it that color before. What's even more concerning is that last night we used a condom because she had not taken her birth control for a while (she had been on her period). We do not normally use condoms. When we were finished her labia was puffed up like a balloon. I'm not sure if maybe she had an allergic reaction (they were not latex condoms), or if maybe the friction of the condom caused them to puff up (they were not lubricated). Also, she stopped me from orally stimulating her before we began because she was self conscious that her vagina would smell bad (her period had ended only the day before). Which brings me to another point: When she is not on her period, her vagina rarely ever smells bad. In fact its quite the opposite. There are times when I smell nothing at all aside from an ever present faint odor that actually smells pleasant.

This is what makes me confused. I feel like I'm pushing some sort of nasty infectious substance out of her every time we have intercourse, but before and after we do, you would never notice. I can go down on her before and after without noticing much of anything.

This is all very frustrating. Our sex life revolves around having wonderful sex for a while, followed by a few weeks of not being able to because she has developed some kind of painful problem (UTI, yeast infection). We both get so overzealous about the fact that we can finally have sex again, until we find ourselves in the same spot. We are both fairly new to sex. She was a virgin before she met me, and I had just recently lost my virginity before meeting her. We have been together for 2 years now. I am a lot larger than her. I am 6,2 160 lbs and she is 4,11 90 lbs. She takes cranberry supplements around the clock now, which gives more reason to believe she has something other than anything she has had in the past. What are the possibilities? What could she have? Maybe we just have sex too frequently? Before today and last night we hadn't had sex for a week, and before that we hadn't done it for 2. However, before that we were having sex every night, sometimes twice a day.

Edit: I forgot to mention something very important. One of the other conditions she developed was an ovarian cyst. It had popped by itself. That was around October of last year.

Re: Girlfriend's vagina hurts after intercourse

I am a 30 y/o female and everything you have said I have had. I am little and petite and my boyfriend is 6' and good shape and he has a big dick. Everytime we have sex im sore for a day or two and have to put vaseline on right away so I can heal. We usually have sex for and hour or so. My last boyfriend had a more average sized dick and we would have sex for some times 4 or 5 hours and I would never be sore! I don't know if its the size or not being turned on as much or what but it is very obnoxious because I obviously enjoy havin sex. Also the discharge that you described also happens to me sometimes...even a tan color but usually thats after my period. I wanted to tell you though that I have had 2 bacterial infections in the past year, called bacteria vaginosis, I think, don't remember the exact name. Each time I got it, it was because I had sex on my period. I do not reccommend having sex on your period, especially the first 2-3 days. If you get this infection you have to go to the gyno and get these specific antibiotics called tindamax and they make you SICK!!!! Also do you and your girlfrien use lube?

Re: Girlfriend's vagina hurts after intercourse

When was the last time she saw an OBGYN? There are a few things out there that may resemble a yeast infection (especially if you've never been diagnosed with a yeast infection and not sure what a yeast infection is supposed to be/ feel like). Before anything, both of you should get tested for STDs and she should go to the OBGYN just to rule things out.

As far as painful sex, if size is the issue, you guys are going to have to find a position that is more comfortable for her. Try a couple different things till she feels comfortable. Foreplay also helps.
