Re: Very loose 'downstairs' causing severe depression! Is surgery possible?

If she won't even talk to you about it, how do you know this is the real reason for her depression?

Seems kinda far fetched to me. I'd be inclined to think it would be her weight that would hurt her self-esteem before anything. Having surgery will not help her, her problems are psychological and she shouldn't be encouraged to start using surgery as a cure.

Re: Very loose 'downstairs' causing severe depression! Is surgery possible?

It seems very strange, UncleBrett, especially in light of your other thread about how you tore ligaments in your penis trying to stretch it out with weights because you're insecure.

How did this conversation arise, may I ask?

Because I'm envisioning you telling this woman about how and why you injured your penis, and her saying something to the effect of, "Oh, don't feel bad, I'm insecure about my private parts too, etc, etc."

You know, in an effort to make you feel better/ less alone.

I've never heard of a woman depressed about such a thing, and if she were, I'm sure it would be a simple matter to get it repaired, and she probably knows this. If she's had children, she's probably had episiotomies. She knows it's a simple matter.

I think her breast cancer and chemo might be depressing her slightly more than the size of her vaginal orifice, frankly, but that's just a guess.

In any event, good luck to you both.

Re: Very loose 'downstairs' causing severe depression! Is surgery possible?

You do realize that a baby is larger than anyone's penis could possibly be, and she had at least one: you.

Vaginas are very elastic; it's kind of a myth that anyone's penis is big enough to destroy the elasticity of a vagina.

What does happen is that over the years, vaginas simply lose elasticity.
It's not anyone's fault, it's not caused by any particular behavior, or promiscuity, or the size of one's partner, or anything like that.
It's just natural.

Especially after menopause (which I assume your mom is going through or has already gone through), once the body is no longer producing estrogen, which is part of what maintains the elasticity of the vagina, it tends to become sort of slack. I believe the term is "vaginal atrophy".

You might mention this to your mother and assure her that this is a natural process which all women go through as they age.

Re: Very loose 'downstairs' causing severe depression! Is surgery possible?

While I think your concern for your mother is admirable, and you may be very well intentioned, I also think you are going about it the wrong way. If she hasn't already expressed a very specific interest in having surgery, you suggesting it first could well backfire on you terribly. I know I would be VERY annoyed and insulted if someone were to suggest plastic surgery to pick up my spirits while I'm depressed.

As for you "knowing" she is lose down there... There is no way you know this unless you have been there, and I hope to god you haven't. You are either listening to a depressed woman, or a former partner who's honestly is questionable.

Also, as her son, I think you might be overstepping your bounds with your concern over her vaginal size.

And no i have seen my dads penis as a youth (unintentionally, obviously) and it i Huge! his flaccid size is probably bigger than my erect in length and girth!

What, six inches?
That's not huge. It's just normal, whether erect or flaccid.
Some guys don't lose much length when they're flaccid, others do.

My mum has now almost completely lost her personality, to severe depression and kilos of medication a day. So if she did take it to heart, she wouldn't show it.........
Truly, cosmetic surgery on her vagina is not the answer.
But if you're determined to pursue this, then best of luck to you.

Re: Very loose 'downstairs' causing severe depression! Is surgery possible?

Not trying to be harsh here but that's a very strange conversation to have with your mother. I realize some people are more open about sexual issues with their parents but this is seriously a very personal thing, not something that mothers and sons talk about.

I can't shake the feeling that you're either making all of this up or you're just assuming a lot about her depression without knowing why she is actually depressed. For your information, many medications (and you said she is on a lot of them) have the side effect of depression. For all you know, her depression is due to her medication and how it makes her feel rather than what you're assuming. Unless she actually came right out and specifically said to you that this was her problem, I don't think you should jump to these weird conclusions. I agree 1000% with Thisby that as her son you're way overstepping your boundaries and should not make these assumptions about your mother.

Re: Very loose 'downstairs' causing severe depression! Is surgery possible?

I find it really disturbing that you're talking about the tightness of your mother's vagina and your Dad's penis. I really don't understand why you and your mother talk about this? That is really creepy, I'm sorry, but it is not right. Also, you ask for advice but aren't really taking anyone's advice, you just keep bringing up the surgery. It seems like you want your Mom to have liposuction and vagina surgery much more than she does. You shouldn't push these things on your depressed Mom.
