Open sore on labia uknown cause? won't heal?

Recently I had strep throat, and a day after starting antibiotics for it I noticed a slight irritation when I walked in my vaginal region and then when I checked there was a really weird growth right next to the opening of my vagina. One would obviously think an STD but I haven't had any other symptoms and I have only been with one guy ever who was also a virgin when we first did it. He had never even made out with anyone else. I also hadn't had any sort of sex with anybody else, only made out. We both have never had any cold sores, so I don't understand what this is. The weird growth slowly turned into an open sore that now just has a clear white film over it and it is taking forever to heal. It kind of looks like what a cut on someone's leg would look like right before it turns into a scab, but mine isn't scabbing. I got a herpes test done but I am pretty sure it's going to be negative. The sore didn't hurt to pee at first but now since it's an open sore it does. I have no other symptoms and just want this to go away! Any suggestions?

You need to speak with a Dr about this since there are many possibilities. It may be that you are having an adverse effect from the antibiotics for strep. Antibiotics affect the flora of the intestines and the vagina, many women develope yeast infections while taking antibiotics, especially if you are diabetic. Trying to self diagnose and medicate can lead to worse problems. See a Dr for a definitive diagnosis and treatment. The peace of mind alone is priceless.

Re: Open sore on labia uknown cause? won't heal?

Well I have been to a doctor, they tested me for hpv herpes and yeast and they were all negative. I know the herpes can be a false negative but there is no way that I would have herpes and it doesn't seem like it so I'm not worried about that. I'm pretty sure the doctor isn't going to know what it is but to just tell me to let it heal.

Re: Open sore on labia uknown cause? won't heal?

Every time I read forums when I'm trying to find a solution, I always want the person that was having the problems to post about what ended up happening so I'm going to do that! The sore went away fully in about 2-3 months and I haven't had anything like this again. There is a slight scar, but it is very unnoticeable. I think it was probably an infection from shaving, and being sick with strep made it worse. Things down there may take a long time to heal, but it is completely gone now and I am happy!
