workinmom - Birth control pills are a much higher dose and contain a different form of estrogen than HRT. Also, many women prone to hormonal migraines can take HRT. They just have to start at a low dose and increase it gradually. Also, I believe a transdermal form (like a patch or a gel) versus oral is less apt to cause migraines. It seems a patch would be the best since it's a constant delivery (not as many fluctuations as other forms). The V-Dot and Climara patches can be cut so you can easily start out low and gradually increase the dosage without getting multiple prescriptions (for different dosages). Have you tried any HRT?
As far as the Estring (that just gives estrogen to the vaginal area and not systemic) - Yes, it's inserted in the vagina and should stay in even without a cervix. I haven't personally tried it though.

I don't know about this "ring," but even the name implies that it fits around something like the cervix. Otherwise I don't see what would hold it in. There are nonhormonal lubricants such as KY jelly and Replens that can help with lubrication, but I don't know of anything other than testosterone that can increase libido.
Has anyone taking testosterone? I am wondering about side effects? I already have excessive increase in hair on my face, upper lip, on my breasts nipples, thick dark hairs I must wax or pluck weekly. I'd hate for that to get worse. Ugh.
