Okay, I am nineteen. I have had sex with only one person, and many times, but every time it is very painful. It even hurts if I am by myself and masturbating. It only hurts when something is going in and then back out. If something is going in or out, then it is very painful, it stings and burns. It doesn't hurt once he is in, but only when he is moving in or out. I feel really helpless about this... I want the sex to be good, and I feel like I am letting him down every time we have sex because it just hurts. Other problems that I have had. I have never been able to insert a tampon. I have never looked too deeply into this, but I thought it was weird that I could not get one in, because it is too painful. Any ideas on what could be wrong? I'd like to see about getting answers online, because I don't have health insurance at the time and can't go see a doctor.
You should see a gynecologist. There are many reasons - most very simple - that this could be happening. And once one becomes sexually active, you should be seeing one annually anyway.
Is there any other symptoms with the painful sex? Sometimes yeast infections or bacterial infections can cause painful sex. BV can sometimes show no symptoms so i would suggest a visit to the gynecologist to rule out any infections. These are not always sexually transmitted and can be a result of a disruption in the pH balance of the vagina.
