Actually, I like my husband alot, that is why this is bothering me. I have tried Paxil and Zoloft, but I had terrible reactions to both. I do not produce the chemicals which keep you from having panic attacks. I dealt with it for several years before finally having to start taking medicine for it. My doctor, who is a specialist in neurological disorders, had me try Paxil and Zoloft first, and after the terrible reactions (ice cold, pulse up to 170, bp 152/100, shaking, throwing up) we decided those were not in my best interst to take. That's when he decided to have me try the Xanax, and it was the only one to stop my panic attacks. At that point, I had been dealing with GAD for 5 years, and was having attacks every day. I was aware of the addictive ability of Xanax, but I would rather not have panic attacks every day. I rarely have them now, maybe one or two a year. I get anxious at times, but that happens to be my nature, and I can control it now. But until I start producing the chemical again, I will have to take medicine to control my body freaking out. Unfortunately, I feel that the medicine is now contributing to my lack of sex drive, and since I have to take something for the panic disorder, I needed advice on what to do about getting my sex drive back. My doctor has told me that there is medication I can take for that, but I don't want to take more medicine. Some people do not respond as well to the medicines you mentioned, and do respond well to Xanax, which you apparently have a problem with. And no, Xanax has not warped my brain, as you so nicely put it.
