Is sex important in a relationship? I want to view different opinions on the subject. Ive heard some say yes it brings couples closer together, keeps the relationship exciting, its sharing a moment of true love, etc. however others say, its not something i want to do all the time, etc. What does sex do for a relationship?

My boyfriend and I have never had sex, and we are closer and happier than all of my friends that do have sex. We have been dating for over a year and it has all been wonderful. We do fool around and know how to please each other, and we do feel closer after those times, but sex is not an issue. We are so in love and know that marriage is in our future, but sex is not what has made us happy. Our love for each other is. I am sure that sex is what does that for some people, and that's great, but not our cup of tea.

I think sex is a part of every relationship, intercourse or not. You have to be sexually attracted to the person in some way, shape, or form. Sex is a time when you can let loose and enjoy each others comfort in a different aspect. Sex isn't crucial, as sweetiepie1982 has pointed out to us, but I think that sex is a healthy part of any relationship. If you're NOT sexually attracted, there's something wrong!

sweetiepie, if you are fooling ariund then technically you are having a form of sex! I feel sex is important in a relationship. It brings people closer together. And also it helps relieve stress and is pleasureable. Just my opinion.

I agree with Tinkers. Sex is important in a relationship. If it becomes the MOST important thing, that is not good. Same as if it becomes the LEAST important thing. Balance is the key....no pun intended!
