ok.. this has happened twice now, the past two times i have had sex. the first time all my labia, the second just one side of the inner. THEY SWELL so much.. they look like they could pop... they are stretched so much they look like blisters, but are not. it is weird cause the sex is nothing out of the ordinary. it is with my boyfriend of a year, and not super kinky or 'dangerous' but i am just kinda worried cause it has now happened a second time. less severe but still. and nothing else is wrong with my vulva/vagina. Please help! and this site is so awesome!

It's an allergic reaction - or something similar. Are you using some different condom/ spermicide/ deodorant/ lubricant or - whatever? Far be it from me to suggest you're allergic to him (though it has been documented in rare cases).

Whatever it is, if there is some of it on that area, and you break the skin ever so slightly and let the substance in, the reaction starts.

Have you ever woken with a swollen lip when a mosquito just happened to have been feeding there whilst you were asleep?

My ex and I were high school sweethearts. We dated 4 yrs , married 2. Two years into our relationship I suddenly developed swelling of inner lips to the point they touched and rubbed the inner thigh area. Very very itchy, burning, discharge. Not even able to walk, alot of discomfort to say the least. I would squeeze betadine all over after each visit to the ladies room. All of this resulting from being allergic to my then hubbys ejaculate fluids. Very acidic or could be the opposite, alkaline (sp). His 2nd wife experienced the same thing, as did his previous girlfriend. We have in the last 13 yrs tried to reconcile, and time and time again , this always happens. Its not a rare occurence for this. Ask your gyno, its quite common actually. The only advice weve been given to hold true is condoms. Hope to have helped a bit

That's a possibility. I had that problem with my boyfriend. I was ok depending on what he ate.
If we went out & he decided on the surf & turf--he wasn't getting lucky for a few days 'till I was sure he had gotten it all out of his system. I couldn't handle the proteins that were in his ***. (My issue was a little more severe though--I experienced anaphylaxis) Most other times, I'd get the swelling, burning, & itching--I made him change some of his diet. Everything was all good after that.
Try it out & see if it helps.
