question for a friend - Sexually Transmitted Diseases Message Board

Ok, so my friend has come to me for help and neither of us are completely sure about the answer and she's afraid to call our school's Health Services. Her ex-boyfriend had a girlfriend who had an STD. He got tested and said he was ok. Well, he went down on her for the first time this past weekend and she found out today that he's been using her just to get some play. Now she's nervous because she's not sure if there is a possiblilty that she could've gotten an STD from him. If he says he doesn't have an STD, is there any way he could be considered a "carrier?" Or could she get an STD from him if he went down on her and had one? Thanks for the help!

1. I would NEVER trust a guy that just said they were STD free....people lie about that all the time! Unless you actually see the test results, I wouldn't put too much faith in the statement.

2. It is possible to contract a number of STD's through oral sex if the one performing the oral is infected in his mouth with one. The most common one to get from unprotected oral sex is herpes. 80% of the population carries the herpes virus orally, although only about 20% of those infected actually get visible symptoms (coldsores or feverblisters).
