A few questions

As I said in my last posts, I had sex about two weeks ago this Friday and I used a condom (it did not break and held strong ) however, not 2 days later I started to get some burning when I went to the bathroom (not a lot but noticeable) and my genitals started to hurt a little off and on during the day. I hoped it was perhaps an allergic reaction to the condom but after a week of washing and cleaning the symptoms continued. This encounter on Friday was the first time and I was sure not to get my penis any where near her without the condom on tight.

So...Last Monday I went to the doctor and he did a penal swab (I don’t know what to call it) and a few other tests. I told him the details and asked him what it could be..such as herpes, trech, chlamydia or gonorrhea etc. This is what worries me.. He said that he does not think it is herpes since he has never heard of herpes giving any symptoms in 2 days (but he did not rule it out) but he asked me if I had had any urinary discharges and I had not had any discharge nor have I had any scabs or bumps. He seemed a little puzzled by it.

He gave me something called (not sure if I spelled it right) doxicycline that I am to take for 7 days. Now, I have been on the medication for about 3 days now and I feel like I am a little better but I still have some presser in my genital area and my penis still seems a little tender off and on through the day.

Do any of you have any clues on what this could be and do you know what doxicycline is and what it treats. Any help you give will be much appreciated.

Re: A few questions

Doxycyline is an antibiotic used to treat urinary tract infections, to include gonorrhea and chlamydia. I doubt you have an infection, but it is possible to have a non-sexual UTI that is coincidental. Unprotected oral sex occasionally results in some vague and unexplainable symptons that defy diagnosis, but which eventually seems to clear up. Give it some time and see what happens. Worrying about it really can make symptoms appear and continue.

Re: A few questions

I had the same problem.. burning in the tip when i urinated a couple days after sex, but my sex was unprotected. My left testy started to hurt, within a month it was so inflamed and painful that I could barely walk sometimes. I went to doc, took 1 dose of 1 gram cipro, drastically cut symptoms but never killed it. Taken 2-3 short term anti-bacterial medicines since, but they always just lessen the symptoms, sometimes even make them dissapear, only to reappear again. The doc insists im stuck with this for life and wont put me on a long term treatment of cipro, which i am sure i need because it is the only med that completely knocked the pain out of my system and gave relief for the longest amount of time. Anyone else have similar problems and help for me????

Re: A few questions

I am glad to know that I am not alone. I spoke to my doctor and I do not have gonorr or Clyamy nor a urine infection (I am very happy about), yet the pain is still here (off and on). I just don't understand how the doctor can not know what causes this phantom pain.
If there is anyone that knows what this is, please tell me. I even find that my shaft seems over sensitive and that is not a good feeling at all. I would like this to go away.

Re: A few questions

Yeah well i tested negative for all STD's, but i definately have something. Its been 10 months now and i dont know whats gonna happen with this. Doctors arent very effective with things they cant see because they are scared to mess with our immune systems by prescribing long term meds, which i am sure that i need.
