No, amox WON'T cure all bacterial STDs (syphillis, for instance, is treated most commonly with a penicillin series while gonorrhea is most often treated with cefixime or doxycycline). There are amox-resistant strains of STD infection as well. Amoxicillin is most often given to patients infected with Chlamydia and who do not tolerate doxycycline.
Viral STDs include HIV, HPV (genital warts), HSV (herpes), and Hepatitis B & C; but there are also non-viral, non-bacterial STDs such as trichomonas (a protozoan infection). Amox won't touch trich, flagyl is usually used.
Makes celibacy look attractive, huh?
