'Window period' for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia? - Sexually Transmitted Diseases Message Board

Hi,

I went on the CDC site and know there is a 3 month "window period" for testing on Herpes, Syphilis, Hepatitis B, and HIV/AIDS.

But, they did not list anything for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia. How will we know when is the most accurate and appropriate time to test for these 2 STDs?

Also, I read that Herpes cannot really be accurately tested through a urine nor blood test. Do they just go by visual symptoms alone?

i dunno about gonorhea...but i read that the symptoms for chlamydia can start to show up in three weeks....

Yeah, I heard that too. But, a lot of these STDs may not show symptoms in some people even though they may carry it. That is why I was wondering like when it's best to go for a checkup.

OK, I just found out that the "window period" for Gonorrhea is 1-30 days after exposure and for Chlamydia it is 5-7 days (with symptoms or not).
