I believe you're referencing to HPV, which is spread through skin-to-skin contact (like herpes). So, yes it can be spread by oral sex, although very rare. HPV isn't part of standard testing because there is no test for it, for men. Unless you have a visible wart, diagnosis is impossible. For women, there is a test called the HPV DNA Digene test, which is usually performed after you have an abnormal pap. HPV is the most common std out there, so common that dr's often refer to this disease as the "common cold" of std's.
