i was recently diagnosed with molluscum myself, but i haven't been able to get a biopsy yet to confirm it. i read your other post where you expressed fear that the doctor at your mother's workplace was misinforming you about what you have, but biopsies don't lie. i can't wait to get one myself so i can make sure that these five bumps around my anus and vaginal opening are JUST molluscum and not something more sucky, like genital warts. *crossing my fingers*

molluscum sucks, doesn't it? i got liquid nitrogen put on them (back when i only had 4) to try and freeze them off, but it didn't make them go away. in fact, a doctor my boyfriend spoke to said she was really AGAINST burning them off because it can lead to auto-innoculation because it makes the surrounding skin more succeptible to infection... as in more succeptible to getting a bump right near the bump you got treated with nitrogen. maybe that's why you have two right near each other. they do tend to grow in clusters or crops like that, especially if you scratch them. so DONT SCRATCH.

i am currently treating mine with aldara, the same cream they use to treat warts from HPV. the bumps have gone from flesh colored and slightly hard to red and softer, and i read that this means they are in the resolving stage, which means 'on their way to disappearing'. it's going to be a process, but i would rather do it this way than run the risk of infecting myself with more by the nitrogen process again.

anyway, my advice is to just relax. trust the diagnosis, and treat the bumps... eventually they will go away and you can return to having a normal sex life. i personally cant WAIT to have sex with my boyfriend again, and i hope to GODDESS he doesn't get any molluscum... so far he's been lucky.
