Exclamation Young and Confused

I'm 14 yrs old. I have a boyfriend and he has done stuff (not sex) with only one girl before me. She used to be my best friend and i know she only did stuff with him before he went out with me. Lately i've been worried about contracting an STD from him, even though i do not know where he would get it from. He says he's been tested and he doesn't have one but i definitly have trust issues when it comes to my health. I shave everything and lately i've had little red bumps where i have been shaving. One even looks like a pimple or an in-grown hair. My boyfriend and I haven't had sex but we have had oral sex giving and recieving, and i have never swallowed his sperm when he ejaculated, and it didn't even get in my mouth. A lot of posts i've read say that people can mistake in-grown hairs with STDs. Am i paranoid or do i have something?

Re: Young and Confused

Shaving can definitely cause irritation and bumps in the genital area. You may not have experienced it before or maybe you just never noticed the bumps before. A dull blade can cause irritation and ingrown hairs to occur.

There may be a chance that you have an STD but there's really no way to tell unless you get tested. Have you noticed other symptoms like itching, burning when urinating, abnormal discharge, strange smell, etc;? These could indicate infection.

Re: Young and Confused

Okay wait a minute. You are 14yrs old. You shouldnt be engaging in sexual acts at your age. Do you even know how many STD's are out there? And hold old is this boyfriend of yours? My guess is if he's 14 or 15 (your age bracket) he probably has never had an STD test. Boys will tell you what you want to hear...not always the truth.

I really think if you are concerned about this you should take a trip to planned parenthood w/you boyfriend. But this doesn't make it okay. You are only 14, I have a cousin who had a pregnancy scare at your age and I laid into her. You dont want to end up making a mistake or contracting an STD.

Sweetie I have herpes and I have no clue where it came from and I have only dated 3 guys! And I used condoms like crazy and im 21...I didnt have sex till I was 18.

Please Please becareful about this! I cannot stress it enough! You are only 14 and chances of you being this boy in a year or two is slim...Please be smart about sex...

This always cracks me up. Perhaps in your boyfriend's case it is true, but I find it hard to believe that everyone is always tested for all STDs. Where are all these people (especially very young ones) going to be tested? It is so not true. He's been tested? Ask to see the test results for herpes, HIV, chlamydia, syphilis, gonorrhea, hepatitis. etc.

Question Re: Young and Confused

holly...i think exactly how u do...i don't think words are enough either...so i keep asking him about his physical exam and if i can see it. I've never seen anything weird on him "down there" except a cut from shaving. Yes, he is 15 yrs old. He is in the same grade as i am and yesterday was our one year anniversary thing. Before i went out with him this past year i've known him since we were in 6th grade and he's been my best friend. I did experience itching but only when i think about it, and only when the hair was growing back. Oh and discharge...i've had it even before i was active regularly between periods.
