How long will symptoms/discharge last after dose Rocephin&Zithromax for Chlam&Gono?

I had unprotected sex 4/1 & 4/6 (same girl) for the 1st time since I broke up with my girlfriend. 4/9 or 4/10 I noticed an itchy urethra and slight discharge. I went to the doctor the night of 4/13 and was given a single dose treatment of Rocephin & Zithromax (one was via injection, one was a powder mixed in water and taken orally), which are for both Chlamydia & Gono. Now it is 4/18, and although symptoms have improved I'm still having slight discharge and slight burning from time to time at the tip. The doctor said wait 2-3 days before becoming sexually active again. However, now it has been 5 days and I'm still noticing some symptoms? Is this normal? What have other people's experiences been with recovery time?

Also, I'm not sure yet even what I had, as the lab results are being mailed to my home.

Thanks for any feedback.

dont put your sex life in these doctors hands go to different doctors and get results .. i am 27 years old and i am suffering from lingering bacteria due to zitro not curing me all the way .. so be careful and use good judgement .. i would take zitro and doxy just to be on the safe side .... good luck

Nkok-Nito: After the zithromax didn't cure you, why didn't a follow up treatment with the doxy cure you?

Does anyone else have any experience to share with the length of symptoms dissapearing?

Thanks.
