| Sores on Penis but Tested Negative for Herpes, Please help, Need Advice
Okay Here's my story, I had a bad urinary tract infection this past summer, and started developing red spots (kinda like blisters) that would come and go. I immediately thought that it was Herpes, and went and got tested. To my relief, the type specific test came back negative for both one and two. The red spots have come and gone every month or two, and are not raised, they are underneath the skin, and do not hurt, or burn or itch. I will get two or three at a time, and have come three times in the past six months. I seem to get them even when I am not sexually active with my girlfriend (she was tested as well, and came back negative) At first I thought they were just from friction and heavy sexual activity, now I am starting to think its not. My Urologist said he didn't think it looked like herpes, and I was tested for everything else. Is the Herpes test 100% acurate? I called the testing place today and they said it was 99% acurate, and that I did not need to get retested. My Urologist thinks I might have inflamation in my penis that might be causing the red spots, but I am not sure if he is 100% right. What else besides Herpes would cause red blisters to appear on your penis? I am going back to see my doctor next week, but just need some advice to hold me over til then. If anybody has any ideas or suggestions, I would really appreciate it. This site is a wonderful resource, and I appreciate any help!
