| New to STD testing (How and Where)
I'd like to get tested for every known STD and don't know where to start. I'm 27 and have only been having sex for 2 years. My first partner was the only guy I have ever been with that I did not use a condom on occasion. Everyone else I have always used a condom. I don't think I have anything but I'd like to be responsible and get checked just in case. Last year I went for my pap and it came back normal. I go again in June. Should I just ask my female doc to test for everything or should I go to a clinic.
I heard from someone that if you get checked you should either go to a clinic or try and give blood. This way your INS company doesn't have to be involved. Because if they hear about you feeling as though you need to get tested for something they might raise your rates. Is this true? And if I use my INS will I have to pay my doc extra money to perform all these various tests?
And I did ask my doc to give me the tests 2 years ago which was the first time I saw him. He said it wasn't necessary since at that time I had only been with one person. What do I do if he feels it still isn't necessary? (I have been active with others but you can still count it on one hand)
