Chlamydia Meds - How Long? - Sexually Transmitted Diseases Message Board

Hi, I was found to have chlamydia this week & was prescribed zithromax.. 4 tablets that I took at once as instructued. That was Tuesday and today is Saturday and I am still showing symptoms, pain urinating and a mild discharge. Also, today I ejaculated while masterbating and it was like jelly, more solid than liquid.

I know I have to be retested in a few weeks but I would still like to know when the symptoms should stop showing.

Anyway, it would be great if you could help, thanks

Depending upon how long you had it and any internal damage it caused, it may take a while. Some men never get over having symptoms of long untreated chlamydia. If you are still in pain, please see your doctor again.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me.. I just checked back this minute :P I reckon I had it for about 3 weeks & I took the meds a week ago. I have little or no discharge & very mild tingle/pain urinating. Im just worried that the meds havent work, wud it be unreasonable to still show mild symptoms a week after meds?

just to update.. if anyone could help..? The signs of discharge appear to be gone but the mild pain when urinating is till there. Could this be a result of ineffective meds? or could it take time to heal?

How did you contract this infection?

How were you tested to prove it was Chlamydia?

Most cases are cured w/ Zithro pack.
