It might be herpes, though it normally affects the lip area. I suppose a primary outbreak could affect the tongue. You might also have canker sores, possibly unrelated to her, but the timing is suspicious. If canker sores, they should clear in a few days to a week. If herpes, and assumming this is your first outbreak, it will take 2-3 weeks to clear, most likely, and the sores will scab over. It could also be some other virus. I highly suggest seeing a doctor to see exactly what you might have. He can prescribe a lidiocaine solution you can apply to the sores to help relieve the pain.
