Unhappy Is it possible? Please read...

Here's the story... I had a one-nighter with a girl I didn't know at all (which was stupid to begin with) about 2 1/2 months ago. She gave me oral sex, without me wearing a condom. Then we proceeded to have intercourse, of which I did wear a condom. We also kissed, which lasted only about a 1/2 minute. Since that night, I have heard mixed things about this girl.

Now, nearly 2 1/2 months later, I have noticed that the back of my throat is somewhat redder than I ever remember it being. I don't know if it was because I had started smoking cigarettes at around that time. Recently I quit smoking but the redness remains.

Here's the question: Is it possible for me to get an STD from her? I lost my virginity that night so I could have only picked up a disease from her. Could she have given me an STD when she gave me oral sex?

Re: Is it possible? Please read...

Yes, it is possible, but from your description, unlikely. Smoking might have caused the initial irritation and it is simply taking a while to get back to normal. Perhaps, also, you are being paranoid and simply _think_ your throat is redder. I am pretty confident that her giving you unprotected oral sex or protected intercourse could possibly give you a red throat. Kissing might, but I doubt it.

It wouldl not be a bad idea to consult a doctor, as a red throat might be an indicated of some other, possibly worrisome, problems.

Re: Is it possible? Please read...

I think it's almost 100% certain this isn't a STD from the activity you describe. I agree with the other poster that the redness may be just your imagination (anxiety has a tendency to amplify and distort our perceptions of "normal"), or maybe you have something else going on - a virus maybe. See your doctor to be sure :-)
