Mystery - Any suggestions?

Ok,

Something affected down below 2 days after being quite drunk and a woman jumping me so to speak.

I had a tingling and semi hot sensation (Nothing else) and 7 days later saw the GP. I got the full wack of things for STD's. (As I didn't want him peering at my widget).

Well, things when downhill bigtime from there...it got really hot down there. (No lumps bumps etc) just real real hot. (Like bright red from half way up).

Anyway, at 6 weeks because it was keeping me awake at night and was not settling down (Just hot all the time) I went to the GP again.. and got all the STD tests done. He had a look and said it wasn't Herpes (I wasn't so sure having read that it can be without blisters) (But when he saw it, it was only bright red and sore around the opening). Anyway, all the tests came back negative. And he mentioned about refering me to a urologist... At that stage the heat had gone down gradually and was enough to know but not painful so I said I'd get back if it came back. (I was convinced it still was HSV2 and would disappear sooner or later).

Anyway, I then went on holiday and the pain just started racking up again.. to that heat (not quite as bad as the first episode..but really painful). In the last few days it has subsided quite a lot.. but has racked up again today.

I'm at a loss. Could this be some some external bacterial thing? (I had a rash that appeared for a day that also appeared in various folds of skin - like it loved the moist bits) Does a Herpes rash appear for a day and go away? Does Herpes produce a bit more of a smelly smell? An external bacterial thing would get worse when on antibiotics? (I know Herpes would get worse irrespective of antibiotics). Or maybe I have some internal damage to the unirary passage that isn't healing due to the movement that occurs. As it gets worse after "enlargement" etc... (And I did potentially do some damage at the outset due to my 6 hour marathon effort - and I haven't seen her since). (Could fissures be the cause? will they heal themselves?).

Also, I have enlarged tonsils and a slightly sore throat that still hasn't shifted. (Very weird). My GP checked all my nodes etc and they were ok at the time. (Still are on self examination).

Anyway, its 12 weeks now and I thought it was going away... but today its hot again.. bloody h*ll!

I suppose the suggestion is going to be get a HSV2 test... but does anyone have any ideas? Is there anything viral out there that could be doing it other than HSV2? or is there anything bacterial that could be on the outside and not dealt with by the antibiotics?

Thanks for any help... most appreciated.

Trevon

Thanks for responding.

Yes, I considered that and even asked my GP about it.. he said no its not that (But he only saw the redness at the tip and not the previous far larger redness). I asked for a blood sugar test to see if I had a high blood sugar issue (As I've been hyperglycemic in the past - probably due to living on chocolate bars at Uni..) anyway my blood sugar levels are at the low end of normal (Probably a function of my caffine intake..as that suppresses).

(High sugar content in your urine can create great ideal conditions for bacterial growth).

No I've not had any "discharge" although it leaked urine a bit and I had on one occassion a clear film (But given the extreme heat and pain associated you'd expect that). (Hence it could have been clymidia but I had STD tests after taking the antibiotics).

Anyway, there could be something along these lines as I've found that by keeping it extremely dry the symptoms progressively have shifted just to the tip of the ureatha... so, I don't know. As the tip shouldn't continue to be a problem. But it just does feel a little better each day... (Although it comes back in short uncomfortable waves of "pain" - but that might be nerve regrowth I hope).

Pain on urinating... well, when I first had the problem actually urinating was beneficial. Then during the maximum pain it was not better or worse than what I was experience. Now, its very slightly more noticable as I'd expect that with the redness already there.. any urine against inflamation is not going to be a positive thing.

All as I can say... never again.. nothing is worth the rubbish I have had to go through. (I never knew that there are so many health issues that can come into play that don't normally exist otherwise).

You might be right though... if I had a severe bacterial attack... then it could have damaged quite a bit of internal skin coverage and these are getting inflamed with urine and the "natural elasticity" that occurs with the male "member"..

I guess I'll try to sit this out... if in 4 weeks it hasn't gone completely then I'll do the HSV2 test and if thats clear then its the specialist...

What you describe most definitely doesn't sound like herpes, and not a bacterial infection, either. It very much sounds like a fungal infection - the rash, redness, scent, soreness... I'd go back to your doctor and ask about that possibility.

Thanks sparks for replying!

Yes, I think you are probably right... I really hope so. (I'd hate to have to ever pass on the pain I've experienced to some woman...its the worst).

I've seen that the taking of antibiotics can actually make matters worse! (Serves me right I guess - a good lesson).

Must admit that the surface area on a few occassions looked just slight white orientated... but not like any pictures I've seen on the net re fungs (Candid whatever). Just a bit flour coloured but not the fungas spots or anything like that.

Actually I am a bit of a fungal person.. I got it under my arms last year. Which surprisingly was due in my opinion to use of alcohol based deoderant and going to the gym. (Never fungi on there though... that is no fun!guy). (On that occassion I was sure I had some parasite from the gym towels.. ).

Fungal things will go on their own perhaps? Like just ultra good cleaning should clear it?

Also, when I did the STD tests they did do a general test which was getting a cotton swap from the opening, so that should not have shown fungal growth? (I thought fungal=bacterial?). ( I guess gowing mushrooms in a culture would prove a positive test...lol).
