how did they find out about that? was there symptoms? like pain, etc... that made them go to the dr, or was it found during an annual check up?
just wondering because i've had chlamydia too and i would like to have kids but i'm not sure if i can.
Express your concerns to your doctor. There are tests they can do. I believe an ultrasound, or MRI, or something non-invasive can be used, to see if the fallopian tubes are blocked.
I had Chlamydia 5 years ago..... it was caught due to me having symptoms and since i go for a pap every year, i was CERTAIN who gave it to me... which was only the month prior..... it took 3 rounds of antibiotics to cure me of it ... and an additional 2 years of abnormal paps.... (which finally came back normal!!!)
ANYWAY, chlamydia reaks MAJOR havoc on your reproductive system.... at the same time i contracted chlamydia, i got pregnant..... i decided to terminate the pregnancy.... but the pregnancy probably would've ended with having an active infection like chlamydia....
ANYWAY, since it was caught so early, the dr. didn't think i'd have any complications from it... other then these paps that kept coming back abnormal.....
i have 2 children prior to the std.... but in the meantime met my current husband ... since he had no children, i certainly wanted to become pregnant..... it took us 18 months to conceive my son..... but we had 2 "unexplained miscarriages" in the interim.... AND we had "unexplained infertility" ... which only lead me to believe that because of the chlamydia infecton.... it was making it harder for me to conceive......
they do a HSG to see if your fallopian tubes are open if you're having problems conceiving and have had an STD..... luckily mine was ok... but i still couldn't conceive...
Thank God my son is ok and was born 7 months ago.....
so.... although chlamydia CAN cause you to be infertile.... there are some of us out there that had the std... and still conceived.......
