| Re: STDs in urine and swab testing?
Heres a list of ways you can get tested for various STDS: Gonorrhea & Chlamydia~You can find out if you have Gonorrhea or Chlamydia by a simple lab test. Tests are done with either a urine sample or a sample obtained from a woman's cervix or a man's urethra, using a cotton swab. HIV ~ By a simple lab test. Tests are done with sample of blood. The approximate accuracy for the blood test is 99.9%. Hepatitis A, B or C ~By a blood test. Syphilis ~ Can be detected by blood tests. The tests look for antibodies in the blood. Herpes~ Is usually diagnosed by a visual exam by your health care provider and a lab test. The test can detect antibodies made by the immune system to fight a herpes infection. Because antibodies take time to develop after the initial infection, a positive antibody test may not be present if you have recently been infected.
