Symptoms of Herpes? - Sexually Transmitted Diseases Message Board

I am beyond upset. I am 32 weeks pregnant and in need of advice. I have had burning in my vagina for about a week, off and on. I also feel like I have to urinate all the time (not pregnancy related). My clitoris feels as though it is numb. It is so odd. My doctor examined me and gave me diflucan for possible yeast last week. This week, a different doctor examined me and said no yeast, no bv, and pH levels were normal. He recommended that I have a herpes test at the end of June! (I have not been with anyone different since the beginning of November). My questions are for those of you who may have the herpes virus. What were your first symptoms? I do not have any lesions for bumps, just burning, redness, and the need to pee! I am hoping it's just hormonal and will go away after delivery. Please help. Can herpes remain dormant for a while? thanks in advance.

yes it can..many women get misdiagnosed as a yeast infection.

I have no bumps, no lesions, no sores...just redness. What are the chances?

Most likely hes testing you for herpes because if its not treated during pregnancy and if you have it.. it can be horrible for the baby. Dont worry they test everyone for it. I just had a baby and I was tested myself. When your pregnant you get more feeling down below more blood flow because of the baby. When your about 8 months your fingers and arms will cramp when your asleep because of blood flow. If your really worried about it i would have them to move the test up but I wouldnt worry about it

Thank you for your kind words...I just don't know why I am experiencing this weird burning. Pregnancy has not been a joy at all to me - heartburn, leg cramps, blah blah blah. I am talking to another doctor tomorrow. I may even go to Planned Parenthood - I'm ****ed off!
