What kind of doctor should I go to for bumps on penis?

I have a few bumps on my penis that don't look like normal penile bumps one might have. They are probably warts. I am not sure if I should make an appointment with a urologist or a dermatologist. What about a regular family doctor? What do I tell the appointment person on the phone when I call so I don't feel too embarrassed? Would "bumps in groin area" be a good description?

Also, would a urologist, dermatologist, or family doctor treat the bumps differently?

I appreciate all your help! Thank you.

Re: What kind of doctor should I go to for bumps on penis?

I have never gone to a dermatologist for my genital area but that's just me. Any family doctor can tell you what you have. A urologist in my area is more expensive than a regular family doctor. While all doctor have there own protocol for treating infections it is basically the same for STD's. The brand of antibiotics may be different or some may write a script to be taking longer than another doctor would write.

When you call you can tell them you have an infection in your groin or a skin irritation on your genitals.
