anyone who has HPV and genital warts please repsond!!!

I am the only one that feels this way.... I am trying to be soo strong and not let this thing get to me. I was told I have hpv and genital warts. I am going in on the 25th. to have the leep procedure done because they found pre-cancerous cells. Well....because of all this happening in my life I am feeling awful about myself and its been hard to have a normal relationship with my boyfriend. I feel so guilty and my hpv....(if i never had sex to begin with this would have never happened to me)! I cause my hpv. I am at the point that i dont want to even have sex anymore because I am so angry at my self and am so scared i am going to pass it on to my boyfriend who is being so understanding. HAS ANYONE ELSE FELT THIS WAY??? I need help what do i do to get over this feeling of shame???

Re: anyone who has HPV and genital warts please repsond!!!

I felt this way after an abnormal pap smear as I thought I was dirty.

Here's the thing, They say even after 1 partner you can have HPV (The standard is 2 or more sexual partners and you can be sure you have it).
It is not your fault, nearly every sexualy active person carrys a strain of this virus. Do not feel dirty or let anyone else make you feel this way.
In women this is how the virus shows up, abnormal cells! in men, lot harder to find even though they carry the virus too..... And yes, your boyfriend would carry the HPV too and I dare say had it already.
I truly advise going to a sexual health clinic to find the facts out because it sounds like your in panic mode as you don't understand this virus and I can understand that, I did the same
So please, don't feel dirty or think that your relationships are ruined!! this is not the case.

Re: anyone who has HPV and genital warts please repsond!!!

thankyou for your reply...i think thats what i have needed a slap in the face response. I know my life isnt over with this and that many girls have this and dont even know. I guess I am just one of the lucky ones that found out before it got any worse. I need to look at it that way instead of stressing out and feeling bad about myself. Its just hard because i do want things back to normal i want to be able to have a normal sex life again and from everything ive heard Its really not possible. the warts will never go away completely from what ive been told unless there is something i am missing...?

OK hun, no the virus never leaves your system. That much is true.
BUT! this does not mean you will always get a flare up or always get abnormal cells. Start making a change to your life style like looking after yourself. This virus loves a run down body so don't let yourself get that way. Some people have one flare up in their life! me, I'm one of them women that gets abnormal test results and has to go back in 2 months for another test and my cells go back to normal. It's strange stuff this virus at times.
You can have a normal sex life again. Nearly all of the western worlds sexualy active people have this virus. It's common. You will find that most won't freak out if they have a understanding of what it is. Though most people get shocked to think they may have it and it would be true if they have been sexualy active. Well this is why us lassies have pap smears, yay! heh
Why most people don't think they have it is because they think you have to have the appearance of warts. Sooooo not true! most cases it shows its self by abnormal cells that the naked eye can not see on the cervix *puts hand up* I'm one of these people!!

Big hugs hun, you will be fine and live a very normal life despite it Just make sure you keep up them pap smears! now more than ever you can NOT miss an appointment for one. Stay on top of things and you will have a good grip on this.

Re: anyone who has HPV and genital warts please repsond!!!

Im 27 years old and have just been told i have genital warts (it was clear i had them so i didnt blink an eye lid when they confirmed it at the gum clinic). Much worse things was on my mind like maybe having hiv, i live in Thailand and have had sex with more than 300 women and these genital warts are the only std i have ever caught.

Anyway ive been riding my luck for quite some time so i guess i deserve them, no i know i deserve them.. i have just tested negative for hiv so that was a relief!

Anyway just had my warts frozen two days ago, wasn't pleasent and also got lecture from the doc about my bad sexual habbits. Now im waiting for freeze marks to fade and then i will start to apply the 'warticon' cream.

Hopefully they will go and go for good, no more cheating on my Thai girlfriend from now on...
