Do I have herpes?

Hi,

I've only slept with ONE girl in my time (my ex girlfriend) - later in our relationship, about 8 months I would say, something happened to her that her vagina was in a lot of pain, she couldn't pee and had not spots but BIG... (when you burn yourself, after a few days that place becomes bigger and is filled with liquid) well she had those, sorry can't remember what they are called now!

So when she went to see a Doctor, she was told she had herpes... and appearantly I gave it to her! Through oral sex?! I have only slept with her and no one else in my life, my only sexual partner and for the first 8 months everything was ok and then bam! she has herpes and I gave them to her?! - Is this possible?

Aperantly - it was explained to me by her Father actually, that sometimes men have this virus on their lips from COLD WEATHER and can past it on to females via oral sex giving them herpes?

And another funny thing is that her Father had the same big 'spots' on his head after she bit him on it?! (he's bold)...

I am very confused by this but anyways... -

Now that I have a different girlfriend, I am worried in case I would pass it on to her as well? Do you guys think I actually do have herpes? And what should I do? :S

Me and my ex ALWAYS used condoms for penetration sex!

Please help, thank you

Re: Do I have herpes?

There is absolutely no way you could have gotten the herpes virus from "cold weather". It's a virus, not .... I don't know, something you get from the cold, like a runny nose.

I also wouldn't trust that you're the one who gave it to her. If you've had no other sexual contact, and never had an outbreak, you can't be sure you have it. Do you even have oral herpes? You never actually said in your post.

Also, yes, it's possible to have herpes in other places on your body. I saw a medical photo once of a guy with it on his ear. As for the dad having it on his head, possible. And in fact, if that's what it is, makes it seem far more likely that your ex got it from contact with that (no, I'm not suggesting anything improper), it's just that if it's out there in the open, it's more likely to get touched by either his hands or hers, and then she could transfer it... anyway, just an alternate theory.

You should see if there's a way to get tested even though you don't currently have an outbreak. It's important that you find out for sure. You sure don't want to be spreading it around.

Re: Do I have herpes?

Thank you for your reply

Exactly, that's what I'm confused about... :S

Myself, well, I don't think I have oral herpes... :S - how would I know if I had oral herpes? What would be the symptoms because... I have never really noticed anything strange around my mouth or lips... :S how one would know they have oral herpes?

This is confusing me :S

Re: Do I have herpes?

I think they say something like 70-80 percent of the population has oral herpes. You can get it by your grandmother giving you a kiss. Have you ever had a cold soar on your lips? If not then I doubt you gave her herpes in the way shes saying even if you have oral herpes. An open sore on your lips would have been required. Even with that it's rare to transmit it that way. If anything she cheated on you.

o and you can be tested for herpes. more or less they take a cotton swap and stick it in your penis. it's kinda painful. then they send it to the lab. it's not always accurate. It's best to get tested when you have sores.

if she has genital herpes it's quite possible you also have it, especially if you slept with her when you say soars. Generally though you should have had your first outbreak within a week or two from contact. If it's been months you might be in the clear, but I'd still get tested.

my question is why would her father have this talk with you? seems a little suspect. is he a little weird?

Re: Do I have herpes?

You see, I don't know if I've had cold soar on my lips... the only thing I can remember is, when it was winter and cold I had some sortof like white lines/cuts on both sides where bottom and upper lips meet... and it was a bit painful but I'm assuming it's because of a cold? - I don't know what herpes or cold soar would look like... but when I googled for some images of both, I've never had anything like that on my lips or sexual organs from what I saw in the images on google, :S so I really don't know :/ - but that 'cuts' I had I can't remember when I had them, was it before her or how I don't remember. But as I said, they were a little painful when I would open my mouth :S

Her father did not talk to me about it, but he did explaine how she got it to her and that I gave it to her that's why she says I gave it to her... and to answer to your question, if her father is 'weird' - he's not her real father, she's adopted, and she did say that when she was little he would do things to her so there you go :S...

Really confusing, I think I will need to call her up and talk to her about it again, find out how she got infected with this herpes thing. - When she had it, she showed it to me and around her vagina she had a lot of big blister-like things and it hurt her when she had to pee or even move...

:S Strange this is :/

And I'm too scared to have things put into my penis, omg I could not handle the pain! lol very sensitive to things like that, and needles :|
