Sexually transmitted Tic?
Hi, I'm a 30 year old Asian male. I've had a tic, in which my head/neck jerks side to side, for about 5 years. It started only two days after I had sex with a man (which I regret, I was curious). The tic occurs only when I'm lying down, trying to relax, such as before I go to bed, while I'm sleeping (unconscious) and after I wake up. The movement occurs in instances - in one instance, my head jerks sideways once to a couple times and then stops. Such an instance repeats after every several seconds to one minute of no activity. The episode lasts for 30 minutes to an hour. When this symptom occurred for the first time years ago, it appeared suddenly and as full-blown and strong as it is now (in other words, it did not come gradually). However, the episode may occur as much as once a day or as little as one episode a week. After the episode I sometimes have a temporary headache (from the motion), but I don't have other physical symptoms. A neurologist thought I had anxiety, but anxiety meds did not work. I had an EEG while I was awake, which was normal. Another neur. suspects a muscle spasm but cannot treat it until Video monitoring EEG is done (which I haven't done yet). I did not tell my neurologist that I had sex w/ a white male (age 30 or so) 2 days before the condition started. For the 1st 2 weeks of onset, the episode occurred everyday but after that occurred less frequently. During the sex, I experimented w/ kissing and oral sex w/out condom (both giving and receiving, only before ejaculation). Does anyone know someone who got such a tic through a virus/ bacteria transmitted in this way (STD, encephalitis,...)? What test(s) do you recommend? Please HELP soon! Thank you very much!
