Oral Chlamydia - Sexually Transmitted Diseases Message Board

I've been seeing a girl for about a month who has quite a promiscuous sexual past as have I. I got checked for STI's around October time last year. Since then I have had two sexual partners, my current girlfriend included. I've used protection everytime. I'm showing symptoms of an STI now (painful urination and slight discharge) and I'm fairly certain I didn't catch it off the other girl as:
A: it was a long time ago and i've only just started showing symptom
B: I'm almost positive there was no contact between us pre-condom.

Its very possible however that I have caught it off my current girlfriend as despite using a condom for intercourse, there has probably been some sort of contact before hand. Also, she has not been checked since June last year and has had a number of partners since then (though she claims she used protection every time).

My question is this...

I have been performing unprotected oral sex on my girlfriend for well over a month but have no symptoms of Chlamydia orally. However, since the last time we had sex I have noticed genital symptoms. Obviously I'm getting myself sorted as soon as possible but I'm worried now she may have cheated on me as I didn't get anything from the oral sex in the beginning but now appear to have caught something through intercourse. I'm thinking now she must have caught it since she's been with me? Should I be worried or is it just really difficult or unlikely to catch Chlamydia (or other) through oral sex?

I'm already not very trusting, am I just being paranoid?!

If she isn't showing symptoms (more specifically new symptoms, like you) there is no reason to suspect she's cheated. Chlamydia is knows for being asymptomatic in the majority of people and if she hasn't been tested since last June, she could have had it all this time.

Also, people who get it orally usually have few symptoms (yes, you can get it orally). And it takes from 2 to 6 weeks to show symptoms. You could have picked it up the first time you were with her. Has she performed oral on you? (I'm going to guess yes.) She could have already had it orally (no symptoms), you get it genitally, and there you go.

Basically though, since you two are new partners, you really shouldn't be trying to use this as a way of determining if she's been unfaithful. And if you have it, make sure she gets treated too, of course.
